We started Shadow Vodka to create premium vodka that was
also organic.  Our search for a location landed us in picturesque
Santa Cruz.  Nestled on the northern shores of Monterey Bay
this town has the perfect atmosphere to promote an artisan spirit.
Our product went through extensive research to find the formulation that leads
to a crisp spirit with a clean finish.  We studied how many different varietals of
wine come across the still to find the one which gave a subtle fruity aroma to
compliment our spirit.  After we decided upon Pinot Noir wine we went in
search of a high quality, sulfite free supply.  Our search eventually brought us to
Amity Vineyards.  Their grapes are grown in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette
Valley pinot region. This region is recognized as one of the
premier Pinot
regions in the world
.  
The rest of the alcohol in shadow vodka comes from organic corn and rye from
the northern reaches of our country.  It is first processed in Idaho and shipped
to us as 95% alcohol.  This decreases the carbon footprint of our product by
minimizing the bulk of goods shipped to our site.  This way we can ensure we
are making environmentally conscious decisions at every turn of the process.
These quality ingredients are combined and redistilled at our
facility on a Jacob Carl still.  This small batch, artisan
production allows the natural flavors to mingle and create
vodka that leaves all others in the
shadows.
